Walter Cronkite R.I.P.

Hello everyone!
Much ado, so let’s get to it.
Wussy is coming for an in-store and show at Skull Alley next Saturday, Aug. 8. They play at ear X-tacy at 5:30 p.m. As always, in-stores are free and all ages. The Skull Alley show starts at 9 p.m. w/ The Fervor. $5.
A limited-edition, split 7-inch featuring new tracks “No Apology” by The Fervor and “Fly Fly Fly” by Wussy, will be released in October as the second in a series based on karate belts. Only 500 copies will be pressed on green vinyl.
Wussy’s last album, Left For Dead, made uber-critic Robert Christgau’s top 5 in Rolling Stone, and that magazine just gave their new self-titled record four stars. Wussy is out now on Cincy’s very own Shake-It Records.
The Fervor’s 2007 debut, Bleeder, is now being distributed digitally in the U.S. through thinkindie.com. Their track “Same State” appears on Louisville Is For Lovers Vol. 9 alongside Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Lucky Pineapple, Whistle Peak, Teneia Sanders, The Mack and more. Copies of the limited edition, double red-and-white marble vinyl of this compilation are still available direct from karatebodyrecords.com, at ear X-tacy, Underground Sounds and Skull Alley, to name a few.
The Fervor’s keyboardist/lead singer Natalie Felker will appear on the forthcoming solo album from Johnny Quaid, an original member of My Morning Jacket. Felker also designed the cover for Cheyenne Mize & Bonnie “Prince” Billy EP “Among The Gold.” A few copies of this on sky-blue vinyl are still available from karatebodyrecords.com.
The Features return Sept. 10 for a headlining gig with The Fervor opening. The Features’ newest full-length, “Some Kind of Salvation,” has enjoyed rotation on WFPK, and was released nationally May 26. Tickets for the 18-and-over show at Headliners Music Hall are $12, and go on sale July 31 at 10 a.m.
Speaking of belts: The first 7-inch (a.k.a., the white belt) will feature two new songs, “Anita” by Pokey LaFarge and “Lately At A Lesser Table” by Joe Manning, also due this fall. On deck for the “splits” are Shipping News, Three-Second Kiss, Ultra Pulverize, Lucky Pineapple, David Cronin and many more. This series will be released into 2010.
More updates are on the way regarding Invaders’ digital distribution, Rachel Grimes Book Of Leaves on Sept. 22 and new double LP from Phantom Family Halo Oct. 6.
XO,
KBR
