Wussy confirms winter shows, SXSW

Wussy, which just released its amazing new album, Strawberry, on Shake-It Records, has a few shows coming up:

12/17 Cleveland, OH @ Beachland
12/18 Columbus, OH @ Ace Of Cups
1/20 Cincinnati, OH @ MOTR Pub

As well, the band will appear at the 26th annual SXSW Music, Film and Interactive Festival. The limited edition Green Belt split 7″ featuring Wussy’s “Fly Fly Fly” and The Fervor’s “No Apology” is in stores now via Carrot Top Distribution, Ltd. The single appears on translucent green wax in a custom matchbook jacket designed by Dexterity Press.

Wussy performs at Woodland’s Tavern in Columbus as part of Megacity Music Fest, while The Fervor goes on at Tumbleweed Connection in Dayton as part of Dayton Music Fest.

Pokey LaFarge opens two shows for The Raconteurs

Pokey LaFarge will open for The Raconteurs in Nashville: Sept. 14 at Third Man Records and Sept. 15 at Ryman Auditorium.
The White Belt split 7″ with Pokey and Joe Manning, Green Belt (Wussy/The Fervor) and Yellow Belt (Lucky Pineapple/Prizzy Prizzy Please) splits all available now at Grimey’s New & Preloved Music.

So excited that Wussy will be back in action beginning with a Sept. 2 show at Fountain Square in Cincinnati. Showtime is 9:30 p.m.; and again Sept. 10 in Columbus, OH, at Woodlands Tavern as part of the inaugural Megacity Music Fest. Lisa Walker of Wussy will perform a solo set with The Seedy Seeds’ Margaret Darling this coming Wednesday, Jan. 12 at Juney’s Lounge at the Historic Southgate House in Newport. The Green Belt, featuring Wussy’s song, “Fly Fly Fly” and The Fervor’s “No Apology” is in stores now. The second in our Belt Series is pressed on translucent green wax by Pirates Press and also comes in a matchbook style jacket.

Lucky Pineapple on Live Lunch

Lucky Pineapple will appear on WFPK’s Live Lunch program this Friday, April 23. The show takes place at noon, is free and seating is on a first-come, first served basis. Members of the station at the $120 level or above receive priority seating. Later that night, we’ll celebrate the Louisville release of The Yellow Belt split 7-inch with Prizzy Prizzy Please at Zanzabar, and again on Saturday at The Bishop in Bloomington.

Wussy, The Fervor hit PA, NY

A foot of snow couldn’t derail their February shows, and now that the weather’s a bit better, the time is ripe for Wussy and The Fervor to revisit Pennsylvania and New York. The east-coast four-banger kicks off April 14 at The Smiling Moose on Carson Street in Pittsburgh, then on to The Fire in Philadelphia, the Cake Shop in Manhattan and wrapping up at Spike Hill in Brooklyn. Both bands are hard at work on new albums, and we’ll have more information on those as the months progress.

About 150 copies of The Green Belt limited edition split 7-inch are left, and they’re going fast. In Louisville, you can find them at karatebodyrecords.com, ear X-tacy, Underground Sounds and Shake-It in Cincinnati. Also this spring, The Green Belt will be available for the first time in the U.K. via Code 7 Distribution.
