Phantom Family Halo record release show, other news

September 13, 2009

phantomcroppedweb1

We eagerly await Phantom Family Halo’s monstrous double LP, Monoliths & These Flowers Never Die, and we have some news on that front: The Halo will play their record release show Oct. 17 at Zanzabar (2100 S. Preston St., 635-ZBAR). The double LP, which features members of Sapat and The For Carnation, is now available for pre-order at karatebodyrecords.com.

Thanks to everyone who purchased the Rachel Grimes “Book Of Leaves” limited edition LP with sheet music score. We have sold our remaining copies to Japanese label Linus Records, which will distribute them in the land of the rising sun in the coming weeks. The remaining sheet music LPs will appear at your nearest independent record store Sept. 22. That’s only a week (or so) away! We still have plenty of regular LPs available for direct purchase.

Thanks to everyone who came out to The Fervor’s show with The Features last Thursday. We’ve got two more shows this coming weekend, Friday at the Third Annual Homegrown Festival at Fourth Street Live with Squeeze-bot and DJ Matt Anthony, and Saturday at The Nachbar after the U of L-UK Game. Both shows are free! We’ll have pre-order information on The Fervor’s Green Belt split 7-inch with Cincinnati’s own Wussy this coming week, but we assure, you, it sounds incredible. The Fervor will appear at the annual CMJ Festival in New York, so for all our New York friends, stop by Spike Hill in Brooklyn on Oct. 23.
