Ben Sollee keeps trucking through the winter, joining Trampled By Turtles, Carrie Rodriguez and Erin McKeown. He recently completed another Pedaling Against Poverty tour of the south, and in February, he and Sub Pop recording artist Daniel Martin Moore will release Dear Companion, a new CD produced by Yim Yames, to help fight against mountaintop removal in Appalachia.

Don’t forget: Special edition copies of Sollee’s 2008 debut album, Learning To Bend, are still available on 180-gram white vinyl, with all new artwork from Mad Pixel. This is a onetime pressing.

“Lately at a Lesser Table” by Joe Manning, and “Anita” by Pokey LaFarge, from the forthcoming White Belt split 7-inch, as well as The Green Belt split single featuring “No Apology” by The Fervor and “Fly Fly Fly” by Wussy, are now at WFPK-FM Radio Louisville. Phantom Family Halo’s double LP “Monoliths & These Flowers Never Die” will be formally released Oct. 6, with a record release show schedule for Oct. 17 at Zanzabar (2100 S. Preston St., 635-ZBAR) with Softcheque. Also on Oct. 17, Invaders debut at Broad Ripple Music Fest in Indianapolis. Set times forthcoming.

Ben Sollee will appear at this year’s Austin City Limits Festival in Austin, Texas on Sunday, Oct. 4, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Wildflower Center. Copies of “Learning To Bend” on 180-gram white vinyl are still available from karatebodyrecords.com. This is a onetime pressing of 500 copies, and we only have about 30 left, so once they’re gone, they’re gone!

That’s Austin City Limits, not to be confused with common athletic injuries. Ben plays at 12:30 p.m. Sunday on the Austin Ventures stage.

Austin City Limits takes place from Oct. 4-9, and all passes to the festival are officially sold out.

However, copies of Ben’s critically acclaimed debut, “Learning To Bend,” on custom, white, 180-gram vinyl, are still available from KBR.
