‘Monoliths,’ White Belt in stores today!

Today — okay, well … tomorrow, but come on, we’re excited! — Monoliths & These Flowers Never Die, the new double LP by Phantom Family Halo, arrives at ear X-tacy and Underground Sounds in Louisville. Each vinyl copy bought in the store, sold directly by the band or through us here at Karate Body comes with a free download card for a digital copy of the album. The double LP is 18 tracks of unbridled passion, close-quarter sincerity, epic and uncompromising experimentation. Also @ Ear X-tacy and U Sounds is The White Belt! Thanks to everyone who pre-ordered and patiently waited for this, the first in a nine-belt series. Featuring “Anita” by riverboat soul provider Pokey LaFarge and Louisville ghost-song storyteller Joe Manning, this limited edition split 7-inch comes on white vinyl, and is also available here on our website, as well as the artists themselves. Packaging was done by Jeff Mueller at Dexterity Press, and mastering of the series is handled by Kevin Ratterman at The Funeral Home. Manning performs a very special 7-inch release show Oct. 29 at Skull Alley with Spirits of The Red City, Elephant Micah and Sunset. LaFarge is on tour through December. Check his website for further details.

Out today is the special edition gold vinyl from Austin-based Ume. The Sunshower EP is a rockin’ fuzz freakout that will be available on Ume’s current east coast trek up to CMJ. Look for the 10” EP at their upcoming show in Lexington at The Green Lantern this coming weekend. There are only 500 copies of this one, too, so get yours soon. Ume, who just completed a west coast trek with Meat Puppets, Trail of Dead, Dead Confederate and The Secret Machines, will appear at next week’s CMJ Festival in New York City.
Check back here tomorrow evening, when we will have another announcement about something green. —XO, KBR
